Brian Alman is a teacher, researcher and clinical practitioner in the areas of weight loss, mental fitness, mind-body healing, wellness, and self-care. Professional Experience

1990 - present   Supervised field trials and application development in the field of weight loss, including a double-blind study Kaiser Permanente’s Positive Choice Wellness Center in San Diego, California, a variety of studies with the Nestle company, and research at the Sanford Clinic in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Is the Wellness Doctor for the Jitterbug and Great Call cell phone company, providing over ten thousand subscribers with weekly interactive Wellness Calls to help with relaxation, stress reduction, confidence building, and personal motivation.
Lectures monthly on mind body-healing, weight loss, wellness, career development, peak performance in sports, communication strategies, and relationship skills. These workshops and lectures are in France, Germany, Belgium, India, and at various venues around the United States, including medical institutions such as Kaiser Permanente, Scripps Clinic, and the University of California.
1977- present   Private practice specializing in training professionals and working with individuals, groups, teams, businesses, and corporations in San Diego, California. Private one-on-one sessions (clients come from all over the world) are either all-day or two-hours, are often held at the beach, and address issues in professional and career development, mind-body healing, improved performance in sports and business, and long-term personal growth. 
Consultant to corporations, Charter Schools, professional sports teams, Olympic teams, and individuals with a focus on issues of weight loss (and keeping it off), pain control, stress reduction, relationship/team building, parenting skills, smoking cessation, mind-body skill-sets, and success coaching. Also consulted and collaborated with Harvard Medical School’s Education Initiative, Kaiser Permanente’s Department of Preventive Medicine, Positive Choice Wellness Center, Good Schools For All, Encinitas School District and San Diego State University School of Communication.
1980-1982   Clinical instructor and counselor at San Diego State University’s Health Services. Specializing in personal/professional training as well as teaching methods of mind-body healing to students, staff, and professors for stress reduction, communication skills, and wellness.
1978-1980   Linda Vista Health Care Center in San Diego. Designed self-help training program that was used extensively with people from Laos, Vietnam, and Cambodia.
